Read Scripture within tradition. Scripture is the crown jewel of tradition and a crown jewel is diminished if taken out of its setting.
I often say one cannot understand the whole Orthodoxy without understanding the parts, but also one cannot understand the parts without understanding the whole. So how do we begin? Immersion.

Goal

I have put before thee, my soul, Moses’ account of the creation of the world (Genesis 1–2), and after that all the recognized Scriptures that tell thee the story of the righteous and the wicked. But thou, my soul, hast followed the second of these, not the first, and hast sinned against God.
